Introduction

On Re SAC Ltd. is a fully licensed, fully collateralized reinsurer and onchain asset manager under Bermuda’s insurance and digital asset regulations. Our goal is to connect alternative capital with the global property and casualty reinsurance market through a structure that is transparent, well-protected, and built to handle real-world risk.

OnRe provides reinsurance support to licensed insurance programs. All obligations are backed by capital that is fully funded in advance and held inside legally separate accounts under Bermuda’s Segregated Accounts Companies (SAC) law. Each account maintains its own assets, reserves, and claims payments, ensuring that capital supporting one program is never exposed to another.

Reinsurance capital is sourced through ONyc, a tokenized vehicle representing proportional exposure to a diversified portfolio of reinsurance programs. Premiums are collected upfront, held in reserve, and earned gradually over the life of each policy. Capital not immediately required for claims is placed in low-volatility collateral assets, producing steady investment yield. The combined result is a blend of underwriting income and collateral returns. Daily portfolio valuations are published onchain using independent oracle providers to provide clear, verifiable visibility into reserve levels and account performance.

Operationally, OnRe follows established reinsurance practices: disciplined underwriting, capital modeling, structured reserving, regular data reporting, and claims verification using independent adjusters and auditors. The onchain layer serves as an additional transparency mechanism. It does not change the underlying insurance framework, risk standards, or regulatory requirements. All activity is overseen by the Bermuda Monetary Authority under both the Insurance Act (IIGB) and the Digital Asset Business Act (Class F).
