# Welcome to OnRe

OnRe is a fully licensed, collateralized reinsurer and onchain asset manager that connects alternative capital with the global property and casualty reinsurance market. The industry represents more than $800B in annual premiums, yet access has historically been limited to major institutions with the scale and regulatory footing to participate. Alongside that, over $250B in alternative capital sits outside the system looking for durable, real-world yield. OnRe brings these two worlds together.

In addition to fiat, we use digital assets to underwrite real reinsurance risk through a regulated structure built for transparency, oversight, and conservative risk management. Our team has spent more than a decade underwriting programs across global markets, and that experience is now built into an onchain framework where capital is allocated, modeled, and monitored in full view.

ONyc (OnRe Tokenized Reinsurance) is a liquid, composable, yield-bearing dollar asset that provides direct exposure to reinsurance yield by combining premium income with collateral returns. It offers a simple way to access one of the world’s most stable and uncorrelated sources of real-world performance while remaining fully usable across DeFi.

Through rigorous capital modeling and 24/7 ONyc liquidity, OnRe sets a new standard for reinsurance capital formation and opens the door for a broader class of investors to participate in a market built for resilience across cycles.
